9 Things To Do in Sorrento, Italy

I’ve been dreaming of the South of Italy for quite some time now. So I was super excited once I booked my plane ticket to finally go last year. I spent the best 4 days and got to see some amazing places, despite the short amount of time I was there for. We stayed at Sorrento which technically is not part of the Amalfi Coast but the Sorrentine Peninsula. Nevertheless, I could not have asked for a better location to start my Southern Italian adventure. Besides being beyond beautiful, Sorrento is a great home base if you are planning a trip down the Amalfi Coast. It is situated right in the middle so you have Pompeii and Naples to the north, Capri to west, and the Amalfi Coast cities to your east. All within easy reach and distance.

The South of Italy is definitely a place very close and dear to my heart and I cannot wait until I get to go again and do some more exploring. In the meantime, I put together a short slide set to show you what I think are some must-do things while sun tanning and drinking limoncello in the beautiful Sorrento.

Visit a local fruit market

Find some fresh fruit and veggies at the local market. You'll be surprised to find out how different a tomato can taste in Italy. Use these as snacks on the go or buy a good variety to make your own picnic and save some money at lunch time.

Have you been to the Amalfi Coast or its nearby cities? What are some of the things you enjoyed doing? And if it’s still on your bucket list, what are you most excited about? Let me know by leaving a comment below 🙂

  1. Hey there! I’m a dietitian in Orlando too. Went to Sorrento and most of those places about 20 years ago. Your pictures are gorgeous and I need to go back!!! Jo (drjo.com)
